Anyone here actually redeem plastic bottles for CRV in the Sacramento area?
I have a garage full of bottles and cans piling up and I have never taken them in before. Before I load everything into the car I would rather know what to expect. How do you check that a center is legit, and what should I have sorted out beforehand so the trip is not wasted?

I went through the same thing not long ago and ended up comparing a few centers around Citrus Heights before picking one. The main things I paid attention to were how clearly the rates were posted, whether the intake process was described anywhere, and how the payout is actually calculated. With CRV it comes down to size, material, weight and eligibility, so a place that explains that upfront saves a lot of guessing. Ivan's was one of the more transparent ones I looked at, and if you want the details on how the deposit works you can read through the water bottle recycling center page before going. They take CRV aluminum, plastic and glass, and the practical part is just collecting eligible containers, keeping labels visible and bringing them in. I also noticed aluminum pays a bit more on Tuesdays, which is worth knowing if your timing is flexible. Rates change, so I would still confirm current numbers before making the trip rather than assuming anything.
